We at Chez Knitterpated celebrated the first day of summer by visiting the local farmer's market. Behold:
Fabulous foccacia loaded with garlic, onions, roasted potatoes, tomatoes, olives and rosemary.
(Oh, and garlic. Did I mention garlic? I won't need to worry about vampires for a while.)
Local, organic strawberries and sweet cherry tomatoes.
(The tomatoes were grown in a greenhouse; this is New England, folks. But they were fabulous anyway.)
Last but definitely not least: "Bread and Chocolate"
Ah, summer. It doesn't get much better than this.
