Knitting? Knitting? What's that?
Last week the "baby with stomach flu" morphed into "the family with stomach flu". We also had visits from two sets of grandparents. 'Nuff said.
But, although I wasn't knitting much, I was doing some surfing, so here are a few interesting things that I found.
Abby made a very cool button for those of us who can't make it to Maryland (see the right sidebar). Violet finished a Shoalwater Shawl in the most gorgeous colorway. On another knitting blog (yes, that's the name of the blog!) there was a link to a cool art exhibit in a Seattle gallery (e.g. "what Spidey wears when there's a little nip in the air"). And Girlreaction took photos of some gorgeous quilts at the Chicago Quilt Show. (I particularly liked "Earthshattering" and "Everyday Best").
In my "not knitting but cool anyway" file, check out Julia's testimony in front of the Texas legislature. Julia has chosen to share her story about her heartbreaking experience with late-term abortion in order to help ensure that this necessary medical procedure will remain legal and available. No matter what your views are on this issue, you've got to admire her strength and her eloquence. (Flames will be cheerfully deleted. If you are not interested in this issue, don't follow the link!)
